In Memorial

Karla Pederson

On April 6th, 2024, we lost a very special friend to Special Olympics here in Oakville. Karla Pedersen was the heart and soul of our Hawkeyes of Oakville, 5 pin bowling community for over 40 years. Karla and other parent volunteers started a bowling club for their children, this was before Special Olympics was introduced into Canada, and Ontario. In the late 1970's they become a Special Olympics club, The Hawkeyes.

Karla, on behalf of all of us here, thank you for the amazing legacy that you have left us: thank you for your vision, your persistence, your time and effort, and your friendship.

Our Community Council received this tribute to Stu from Special Olympics Ontario.
