Special Olympics Ontario: Oakville Volleyball

Volleyball
Statement Special Olympics Volleyball is offered in 30 countries around the world. Participants are grouped in competition divisions according to their ability level, age, and gender. Special Olympics also offers a modified team competition and a Unified SportsŪ competition. Modified competition is designed for individuals with lower ability levels and allows for a smaller court with a lower net. Unified SportsŪ team competition combines players from generic sports teams with Special Olympic athletes. Special Olympics also provides skill events which includes individual skills contests, volleyball juggle, volleyball pass, volleyball toss and hit, and team skills volleyball.

SOO Oakville conducted an evaluation session in August, to assess the level of interest in Volleyball and the skill level of the participants. A second evaluation session will be held in October. Following the second evaluation session, athletes will be registered and assigned to Clubs.
